Terms of Service
These terms explain the basic rules for using Team Balancer to create player pools, generate balanced teams, save generation history, and share read-only public result pages.
Use it responsibly
Create projects for legitimate team selection and event organization.
Protect player data
Only add information you are comfortable storing or sharing.
Verify results
Team generation helps balance teams, but organizers remain responsible for final use.
Using Team Balancer
Team Balancer lets organizers create projects, add players, assign ratings and categories, generate balanced teams, save generated results, and share public read-only result links. By using Team Balancer, you agree to use the service responsibly and only for lawful, appropriate purposes.
Accounts And Project Ownership
Team Balancer supports anonymous browser sessions so you can create projects quickly. You can also create or sign in to an email/password account to make projects more recoverable. If you merge anonymous browser projects into an account, those projects become attached to that account.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account or browser session. Projects tied only to an anonymous browser session may be difficult or impossible to recover if that session is lost.
Your Content
You are responsible for the project names, player names, ratings, categories, generated team saves, and other information you enter into Team Balancer. You should not enter sensitive personal information, confidential data, offensive content, or information you do not have permission to use.
You keep responsibility for your content. You give Team Balancer the permission needed to store, process, display, generate teams from, and share that content according to the product features you use.
Public Links
Public share pages are read-only, but they are public to anyone with the link. A public page can show the project name, team count, player pool, ratings, categories, latest generated teams, and generation history. Only share a public link if you are comfortable with that information being viewable by others.
Team Generation Results
Team Balancer uses server-side logic to create balanced teams from the player pool, ratings, categories, active-player status, team count, and optional locked assignments. The output is intended to help organizers make fairer selections, but it is not a guarantee of perfect fairness, player performance, safety, eligibility, or event outcome.
Organizers remain responsible for reviewing generated results, making final decisions, and ensuring teams are appropriate for their event.
Generation History
Saved team generation logs are designed to remain unchanged for transparency. A project owner may delete an entire project through the product deletion flow, but ordinary editing of saved generation history is intentionally restricted.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Team Balancer for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or misleading activity.
- Attempt to access, edit, or delete projects you do not own.
- Interfere with authentication, row-level security, public snapshot access, or rate limits.
- Upload or enter content that violates another person's rights or privacy.
- Use automated traffic, scraping, or abuse that harms service availability.
Availability And Changes
Team Balancer is provided as a web service and may change over time. Features may be added, adjusted, limited, or removed. The service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, provider outages, deployment changes, or technical issues.
Third-Party Services
Team Balancer uses third-party infrastructure including Supabase for authentication and database services, Cloudflare and OpenNext for deployment and hosting, and PostHog for analytics when analytics is enabled. Your use of Team Balancer may involve those providers processing data needed to operate the service.
No Professional Advice
Team Balancer is an organizational tool. It does not provide legal, medical, safety, coaching, employment, or tournament-governance advice. You are responsible for applying your own rules and judgment to any event you organize.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Team Balancer is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or perfect team generation. Team Balancer is not responsible for disputes, losses, injuries, event outcomes, or decisions made based on generated teams or public share pages.
Changes To These Terms
These terms may be updated as the product changes. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect material changes. Continued use of Team Balancer after updates means you accept the revised terms.
